Reflections

Weeks 4/5:

Take a moment for yourself. Set aside an hour for your well-being and recognize that you’ve had some change in the world around you as spring enters. I usually light a candle and some incense (yes, both, but you do you), put on some calm music and allow myself a half hour for ME. I prioritize myself, selfishly if necessary. I don’t care if I’m seen as a bitch: I just can’t be bothered anymore. I guard my time for this little ritual jealously.

Bring out your journal and review your entries for previous weeks. (If you weren’t able to journal prior to now, review the weekly themes and your events in life, mentally and emotionally.) Did any synchronize with the seasonal energy? This is meant as an observational exercise, not a critique. Just observe whether you’re living in alignment with the energy in the world around you right now.

Four weeks of spring is a decent chunk. How is it treating you? Are you feeling creative and ready to flourish? Are you feeling overwhelmed by the sudden surge in potential as the world awakens? We have a lot of spring yet to cover. Summer solstice is a ways off, yet. What do you need to bring the season and yourself into alignment together?

  • How have you grown in the last four weeks? Like a sown seed just beginning to unfurl, recall how you felt during winter and how you feel now.
  • What are you grateful for? How has spring given you abundance?
  • Now that you’ve had a few weeks to sprout, in which direction do you want to grow? What intentions do you need to make or adjust this far in?

Find a sticker, stamp, or other visual icon or symbol for your journal. Something to remind you of early spring in the nature that you’re most comfortable in. Add that in, or maybe a poem or a drawing. A little visual treat in your writing to remind you of how far you’ve already come. 🙂
