Week 4 Thoughts

Wow.

So, week 4. You know how sometimes you throw energy into the universe and don’t really anticipate how amplified it will be upon returning (especially when it’s something that the universe knows you really need)? Boy howdy. I want to forewarn any other pagans and energy workers out there, please do not act recklessly with energy. That is most assuredly not what I am trying to promote. That said, I am notoriously messy with my own spell and energy work. As a long-time solo practitioner, being in a group now holds me to account. I’m expected to know my stuff and research what I don’t.

Even so, I still sometimes revert to poor, older, energywork-goblin mode habits.

My seasonal living and corresponding blog has been a gentle warm up. I decided that I really wasn’t sure this seasonal living and weekly theme thing was cracked up for anything. It seemed …tame.

It is a trial for myself, after all, so I was certain I’d keep going, but I started Monday decidedly lackluster. It was so bad, I didn’t even log what tarot card I drew. I remember it was a disappointing draw. Blossoming Creativity did not seem in the week’s predicted outcome. I hesitate to admit it, but I may have challenged the universe to show me whether this was actually the method of living for me or move me onto what is, already!

Then, I started my week. I was able reset some progressive spring habits that were interrupted after they began. I lost one creative outlet and gained another in its time slot. And then, midweek, I made a decision that’s started something that may clear away some of the clutter that dogs the progress I’d like to be making in life. (I’ll report on this when I get farther into this particular decision.)

Separately, I have a good friend who knows I’m able to do some basic illustration work in Photoshop. They reached out to ask for my help on a project and I was able to dip my toes back into a software that I had always found fascinating and creative, a mixture of logic and art. I decided to go ahead and give it a shot and I worked on that series for a few days! A creative expression I’d neglected was reborn!

Now that other areas of life are stabilizing, I’ll be able to begin painting again as well. I’m excited to return to a series I began over the holidays and had to temporarily shelve in late winter/early spring to focus on household matters. Maybe there is some blossoming happening?

How has your week unfolded? Are your creative pursuits kicking into drive right now?
